Nonresident Producer Licensing 

 

The NAIC Uniform Application for Individual Nonresident License is accepted for producer licensing.  The application with further instructions is available at the National Insurance Producer Registry web site:  National Insurance Producer Registry

 

Notice:  Nonresident applications are currently being processed within 10 business days from the date received.

 

  • Applicants for the Variable Life/Variable Annuity line of authority must include a valid CRD # on the application.

 

  • Nonresident Producer Licensing Types and Fees:

             Life, Accident & Health and/or Variable Life/Variable Annuity                $150

             Credit                                                                                                    $150

             Casualty, Property and/or Personal Lines                                                $150

             Producer Licenses are renewed every two years.           

             Fees are fully earned when received and not refundable.

Applicants are encouraged to submit any supplemental documentation through the  National Insurance Producer Registry Attachment Warehouse. 

 

Nonresident Business Entity Licensing

 

Corporations, Limited Partnerships, Limited Liability Companies and other business entities are licensed as producer firms.  If a firm is acting as a producer in Wyoming, the firm must be licensed as a producer firm.

 

Send a completed business entity application and licensing fees to the Wyoming Insurance Department.

             Life, Accident & Health and/or Variable Life/Variable Annuity   $150

As of November, 2007, the Wyoming Insurance Department is no longer affiliating all producers with firms.  Only those licensed producers designated by the firm to be responsible for the firms compliance with Wyoming law may be affiliated.

NOTICE:

 

The business entity may be required to register for a Certificate of Authority with the Wyoming Secretary of State.  Please contact the Corporations Division at 307-777-7311 or visit their web site at: http://soswy.state.wy.us to determine if registration with that office is required.  Registration with the Wyoming Secretary of State is not a prerequisite to obtaining a Wyoming producer license.
