Nonresident Individuals and Firms

 

A Limited Line Producer License with a travel/baggage qualification is issued to persons/entities representing public carriers who, in the course of that representation, solicit or sell insurance incidental to the transportation of persons or to the storage or transportation of property.  The NAIC uniform definition is insurance coverage for trip cancellation, trip interruption, baggage, life, sickness and accident, disability, and personal effects when limited to a specific trip and sold in connection with transportation provided by a common carrier

Statutory Authority: Wyoming Statute §26-9-209(c)

 

Licensing Process:

  • NAIC Uniform Application accepted for limited line producer license with travel line of authority. 
  • Applicant must have active travel license or authority in home state.
  • Other than a completed application, appropriate fees, provisions of Wyo. Stat. §26-9-211 and unfair trade practices as set forth in Chapter 13 of the Code, licensees are not subject to any other section of the Insurance Code.
  • A producer licensed with a casualty line of authority may sell travel without a separate license or qualification.

 

Fees (same for individuals and firms):

  • Licensing Fee:   $20.00
  • Renewal Fee:    $20.00

 

Application Submission:

  • Electronic applications are encouraged for accuracy and expediency.  Apply through SIRCON.
  • Paper applications are available through NIPR.
  • Mail paper applications to: Wyoming Insurance Department, 106 E. 6th Avenue, Cheyenne, WY  82002.  Make checks payable to the Wyoming State Treasurer.

 

Renewal:

  • Renew electronically (preferred) or by paper.  Electronic renewals available through SIRCON.
  • NAIC Uniform Renewal Application required.  The application is available through NIPR.
  • Individual license renews on the last day of the second anniversary of the licensee’s birth month.
  • Firms renew March 31 every other year from the year of licensure.
